Bruno Balbi

A story of disconnection, burnout and reintegration.

Behind the song

Learn more about the stories behind my songs and what my journey writing, recording and playing them over the years has taught me about overcoming burnout and becoming a more resilient person.

These songs are the foundation of the story I share in the Musical Keynote, and this series of videos on YouTube shares a glimpse of what you will hear during the Keynote in your company.

The problem

When people disconnect from what gave their work meaning, burnout follows quietly. Engagement drops, productivity suffers, and the quality of work declines.

The ripple effects go further: absenteeism rises, presenteeism drains output without showing up in any report, and the culture starts to erode in ways that are hard to measure but impossible to ignore.

Addressing it head on is cheaper than ignoring it.

My experience

Playing the guitar has been a huge part of my life since I was 8 years old. I completely stepped away from it between the ages of 25 and 32. For seven years, I believed that I had to disconnect from my essence to be able to perform in the three startups I founded and developed.

The result was 2 burnouts and a deep sense of emptiness. It was only when I reconnected with music and returned to songwriting that I was able to express what I was failing to understand. Little by little, I found my ''way back home''.

Musical Keynote

The Musical Keynote takes the audience on an intense and engaging journey to encourage the necessary conversation about how far we can really go when we distance ourselves from who we truly are.

The format alternates between storytelling and live performance (acoustic guitar and vocal), where each song connects directly to a moment, a realization, and to my eventual turning point. That’s what makes it a unique experience.

Music reaches people where words alone cannot. It lowers defenses, moves past the intellectual layer, and creates the kind of space where people can genuinely relate to what's being shared.
